Christy and Don Stinton started their small business in 1985. For over three decades they have provided a broad range of landscape services (from residential homeowners to land management agencies). We’re are an agile company. We respond quickly and in a personable way.
Don is out in the field most every day helping folks with their tree and weed management challenges - investigating and making suggestions. Christy shines in managing the office, and in keeping Don straight.
“Just the right combination” of education and experience:
MS – Idaho, BS – CSU, and two years at Clemson
40+ years, work experience in the “Green Industry,” in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain
Don loves teaching people about plants. He’s known to give tree walks, especially in old cemeteries. The mature trees found there are proof of their hardiness for the area. In cemeteries is where you find the local legacy of the fascinating, and big old trees!
Don was the first Weed Coordinator for Jackson County, CO, known as North Park. He developed the Master Weed Plan for the County, completed a comprehensive weed inventory, and directed aggressive weed management efforts. In a large county of over 1750 square miles but with few residents, funds were limited for weed management. Don successfully wrote and was awarded grants, both state and Federal, that greatly helped supplement the County weed budget.
Christy and Don enjoy many Outdoor pursuits – Especially fishing, floating, and skiing
They’re both voracious readers. Don is a wood turner. He turns bowls and vases from the wood of local native trees.
Many people go and look; Don has the ability to see (and there’s an important difference) when examining a tree(s). When you go to your doctor, you have to tell him what’s ailing you, right? But trees can’t talk, so it takes a perceptive and experienced tree doctor to figure things out. Give Stinton Enterprises a try, and you’ll see!
